Copic Colored: Home Decor Coloring Plaque

Hello friends! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Today I am going to be sharing something a little different with you… the coloring  book trend has been extremely popular this year, but I recently discovered these amazingly beautiful, coloring plaques that can be colored too!

When I saw these plaques by Hallmark, I immediately fell in love with them! Their coloring plaques are wooden with a paper coating, making them perfect to use with Copics and colored pencils. I have not experimented using watercolor on these plaques yet so I am not sure if it would take the watercolor well, but both Copics and colored pencils work beautifully. On this particular plaque (Love Is Everything), I used Copics and I was able to do all the blending and shading I wanted and did not have any bleeding of color.

I purchased a couple different plaques and have colored this one so far; it took me a bit of time, but was a lot of fun and very relaxing to do! I did all the coloring of the images, and then afterward I took a couple of warm gray Copics and added drop shadows to everything, just to pop everything a little bit.

I plan on coloring the others I bought and using them to decorate my craft space. I think these coloring plaques are so much fun and make a great home decor piece! I think these would also be a really awesome gift for a fellow crafter, or given to a non-crafter with a package of colored pencils!
