Die Cut Advent Calendar + Simon’s Holiday Release Blog Hop!

Hi everyone! I am so happy you have stopped by today, as it is time for a very special blog hop, hosted by Simon Says Stamp!

If you  have already been hopping along with us, you should have arrived from the blog of my incredibly-talented fellow teamie, Wanda! If you are just joining in, I have the full hop order down at the bottom of this post.

This hop is celebrating their three most recent releases that have all happened this week: the December card kit “Merry & Bright” (released Monday … and already sold out!!), the Advent Plus release (Thursday) and the Limited Edition Holiday Card Kit (Friday). Some of the products from the Advent Plus release are on reserve and the Limited Edition kit is selling fast (so make sure you pick yours up quick if you haven’t already)! If you are looking for more inspiration using the new products from these new releases, check out these posts I shared this week:

So for today’s project, I wanted to share how to use the Advent Calendar stamp and die sets; I designed these products for Simon in a way that they can either be used together – or separately – in a variety of ways. The obvious use of course is to create Advent Calendars. These are and have been very popular for many years; they make for a fun “countdown” to the much-anticipated Christmas day!

I wanted to use this calendar as a way that the receipients of the calendar are able to tear open the perforated windows and find little notes inside. You could also fill the calendar with treats or tiny gifts, hints to a present that is hidden somewhere, Bible verses, or even just images… the possibilities are endless really. I used the Jackpot Frame dies to create my notes; I think the fun postage stamp and scalloped edges dress up the paper notes really well… makes them a bit more playful!

If you are planning on filling this calendar with something like little candies, etc., you will want to make sure that your perforated windows are raised up off of the background of your calendar enough so that the treat can fit inside. I’ll mention this in my video too when I get to adding those perforated windows to my calendar (so be sure to check out the video)!

If you enjoy today’s video, please give it a big thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for more weekly inspiration!

Super cute advent calendar ideas! I’m so very thankful for my family and friends. Most of all my children~they truly bring sunshine to my life each day! My children and I spend time together creating holiday cards, gift tags, and gift boxes for the homemade goodies we make in the kitchen to give to family and friends. We enjoy our creative bonding time as we crafts homemade gifts for people near and far. Happy Holidays!

Thanks for showing us how to use the new Advent Calendar dies! Like the way you were able to tuck notes behind the flaps. I’m so thankful for my family and especially for still having my parents around. Dad is a 96-year old WWII vet and Mom was just diagnosed with cancer but is doing well.

  5. Such a fun advent calendar! I am most thankful that our 4 year old granddaughter lives with us! She is such a wonderful and loving little girl and waking up each morning to her smiling face starts each day out perfectly! You can’t have a bad day when the smile that creates sunshine is there to greet you when you wake! I don;t know what we would do without her in our lives!

Love the advent calendar you made. If my kids were younger, there are so many great ideas out there now for making your own advent calendars, but my kids are grown and out of the house and live so far away. Maybe one day when we have grandchildren I’ll make one for them :)
