Getting the Most Out of Die Cuts + Simon Release Hop
Hi Friends! Welcome to my stop along the Simon Says Stamp Among the Stars release blog hop! If you have already been hopping along with us, you should have arrived from the super talented Kristina Werner! If you are just joining us though, I have a complete hop list down at the bottom of this post.
Have you seen all the new, fabulous goodies that were revealed yesterday as part of the Among the Stars release?? I LOVE all them!!! If I had to pick my favorites (yes, I can’t pick just one!), I would say I love the Build a Rainbow die, the Stacked Stars die, the Stitched Banners die set and Hydrangea Petals die set… and I’ll be using those Hydrangea Petals on my cards today!
I created two cards using the Hydrangea Petals die because I wanted to get the most out of all the die cutting I did. In my video, I’ll be sharing how I used the positive and negatives of the dies to create two different styles of coloring for these petals and leaves; which can then be turned into beautiful floral arrangements! The dies I’ve used for these cards are the Hydrangea Petals (as I mentioned above), as well as the Tropical Leaves die set (which coordinates with the Tropical Leaves stamp set).
Bear in mind however, that if you aren’t into coloring as much as I am, you can create these same cards by simply die cutting the flowers from colored cardstocks; the possibilities are endless!
To embellish my floral arrangements, I used some pretty buttons, sequins and seed beads from the 28 Lilac Lane collection; the Pretty Princess Bottle and Minty Fresh Bottle. These bottles each contain a variety of embellishments that all coordinate together. I also like to mix and match my the bottles to create my own custom color combos too.
And of course I had to add a sentiment to each of these cards, so I used the new Uplifting Thoughts stamp set (also part of the Simon Says Stamp Among the Stars release) to add some encouraging greetings. I’m really excited about this new stamp set because I actually created it for this new release!!!
So to see how I put these cards together, be sure to check out the video below or over on my Youtube channel! If you enjoy, please give the video a “thumbs up” and subscribe to my channel and/or blog for more weekly inspiration!
