Copic Colored Critters + Extended Card Design + Hop
Hello there and Happy Friday everyone! I am back today to share some fun inspiration using the new Cute Chicks stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s Spring Plush release!
This post is also part of the Simon Says Stamp release blog hop, with lots of fabulous inspiration from so many talented designers, as well as a chance to win goodies! So for my project today, I’ve created a card that is a bit longer than the normal A2 size. I used a partial die cutting technique to extend my die cuts to the correct dimensions needed so that they fit on the card perfectly. I’ll explain and show you all of this in the video I have down below. :)
I also love the chicks from the Cute Chicks stamp set… talk about adorable! The poor little guy still stuck in the egg taking of the rear of my little “family parade” just cracks me up! I used Copic markers to color these critters and the markers I used are list below for reference, as well as annotated in the video:
- Chicks: Y000, Y00, Y11, Y08 (bodies), Y28, E87 (beaks), RV000, R21 (blush)
- Drum: R17, R46, E50, E30, E31, Y28
- Trumpet: E30, Y28, E35
- Flags: BG70, BG10
- Egg: E0000, E50, E30
- Grass: BG93, YG61, YG95
I’ve also been on a kick lately putting twine bows across the top of my cards lately; I’ve done this in the past at times because I love how it finishes off a design so nicely, but it seems its been my trend right now! :)

Beautiful card! I love the dies in this release. My grandmother used to make little felt ornaments and sold them at craft shows… 30 years ago! Glad to see this fun idea trending again! She cut everything by hand. We now have these fabulous dies!
