CASEing Kelly Blog Hop

Hello Everyone, and welcome to a very special blog hop in honor of a very special person! If you are participating in the CASEing Kelly Blog Hop, then you should have arrived from Niki G.’s blog. If you are just stumbling upon the hop now, keep reading and I will tell you a little bit about it!

 

 

If you keep current with the crafting community, I am sure you have come across the amazingly talented and oh-so-sweet, Kelly Latevola on more than one occasion! Kelly’s passion for card making has no bounds; her creations and coloring skills are off-the-charts beautiful! Kelly hosts a regular feature over on her blog called “CASEing Genius”, where she selects three cards from a fellow artist and makes a card based on those three selections. Kelly does this as a way to help other people find these artists that she is inspired by.

However, today a large group of her crafters are turning the tables and hosting a blog hop in honor of her where we are all going to CASE the original Genius… Kelly herself! :)

So, of course, I had to choose my three favorites from Kelly’s blog to create a card from (wait, only three??? I love them all! haha!). After much contemplation, I finally narrowed it down to these:

 

 

First I will tell you of the inspiration that I pulled from each of Kelly’s card… I loved the clustered look of the blossoms and leaves on the first card; it framed up the sentiment so nicely! In the second card, I was immediately drawn by the Christmas theme; but more than this, I thought that the tag that Kelly made reminded me of a Christmas ornament. And finally in the third card, the gold sentiment and watercolor background just totally had me from the moment I laid eyes on that beauty!

And here is my creation… Kelly’s cards are always usually very clean and simple, so I made sure I followed that theme while I was creating.

 

 

I created an ornament from a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle die and used gold watercolor paints to do some ink blending. I clustered some floral images from Winnie and Walter (turning them into evergreen berry branches, rather than flowers), which are colored with Copic markers in the no-line style. A sentiment from Altenew and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finished off the entire design!
