Freestyle Watercoloring

Hello! I am so glad you’ve stopped by today, as I am sharing a card I’ve created for Jenn Shurkus’s 10th Blogiversary Celebration!

 

 

I’ve chosen to CASE one of Jenn’s fabulous mixed media creations, as I loved the organic, artsy, freestyle feel of this canvas.

 

 

I pulled inspiration from Jenn’s color palette, the corner flower cluster, the splattered background and the touch of black.

I started off by die cutting watercolor paper with the Stitched Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp. I then stamped my flowers from the Winnie & Walter In Bloom Addie’s Garden set and watercolored them with Derwent watercolor pencils.

With distress ink, I created my background using a combination on ink blending and smooshing. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with stamps from WPlus9’s Unforgettable set and Mama Elephant’s Three Amigos set.

 

 

Finally, I mounted the watercolor panel onto black cardstock, attached it to my card base,  added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins and applied Wink of Stella glitter over all the blooms.
