Artistic Freestyle Florals

Hello! I am so happy you’ve stopped by, as I am sharing a one layer card today featuring some of the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals stamps. I was really inspired by the artistic feel of these stamps, and thought they would look great done up in gold embossing on a black card.

I started off by doing all my stamping onto an A2 card base that I had created from some gold flecked, black cardstock. I have had this cardstock for a very long time and do not remember where it came from. However, it is really beautiful, and I love how the flecks of gold embedded in the paper shine as the light hits it… wish it showed up as beautifully in the photos as it does in real life! :)

I stamped, heat embossed and masked each of the three flowers before stamping all the leaves and additional floral images. For my embossing I used Versamark ink and Ranger’s Princess Gold embossing powder.

Once all my flowers and leaves were stamped and embossed, I went ahead and stamped the sentiment on my card using the Altenew Birthday Greetings stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment using Ranger Super Fine white embossing powder and again the Princess Gold.

With a white paint pen, I then went in and began adding some sketchy details in and around the images on my card. Some Wink of Stella glitter was applied overtop, and finally, I scored a double frame around the edges of the card, to give some extra dimension.

I love how the gold and white just pop right off the card! Black was never something I ever used much of, but I’ve recently been challenging myself to incorporate it more into my designs, and I’ve actually grown to like it!

I hope you’ve enjoyed and I am so happy you’ve stopped over…. and hey! You may be noticing the new look of my blog… I just unveiled the new design, as well as opening up a shop on my blog as well! Be sure to check it out and stop back… new items are being added often!
