Hang In There

Hello Everyone, hope the weekend has been wonderful for all of you so far!

Today I am sharing another card featuring the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods stamp set. For those of you that follow my blog, you may remember the other superhero fox I had created with this stamp set not too long ago in my You Did It post…

I had so much fun creating this little guy that I thought I might make another one, this time as an encouragement-themed card, for someone who might be having a rough time, not feeling well, bad day, etc.

To create my card, I first began by stamping the fox twice onto some watercolor paper. The reason I stamped him twice was because I wanted to layer him up with the tree trunk image that is also included in the Into the Woods set. I then drew on his cape and mask with a waterproof pen, before watercoloring the fox with my Derwent watercolor pencils and fussy cut the images out.

Next, I worked on the tree; I stamped the trunk in some Tea Dye and Walnut Stain distress ink and then watercolored the piece to blend the colors together. The leaves are stamped in some green pigment inks and shaded with my Derwent pencils. All of these pieces were then fussy cut out as well.

I put my card together by cutting both a white and black cardstock panel, and layered them on top of each other before adhering them to my card base. I then attached my fox and the tree onto the right side of the card, using a mixture of foam tape and regular adhesive.

My black sentiment banner is stamped with the Milo’s ABCs stamp set, also by Lawn Fawn, and is heat embossed in white. I then layered the banner onto a smaller white banner and attached it to the right side of my card.

To finish this clean and simple design, I stamped the rest of my sentiment, in some black ink, on the inside of the card… the inside reads “even superheroes have bad days”.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this superhero card, and if you missed my first take, be sure to check out the You Did It post featuring this cute little fox from Lawn Fawn!

Happy Creating! :)

Inspiration & Challenges

The layout for this card was inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch week #119 challenge, and is also submitted into the challenge.

This card is submitted into the CASology week 142 “Sweet” challenge, and the Simon Says Stamp “In the Middle” Monday challenge, as my little superhero fox is stuck in the middle of a tree! :)
