Easter With Newton

Easter With Newton_2

Happy Sunday! I’m so happy you’ve stopped by my little crafty corner, as I am sharing a new Easter card I’ve created, featuring the adorable Newton from Newton’s Nook! :)

I thought it would be a lot of fun to put Newton amongst a few Easter eggs for this card, so I paired the “Newton’s Antics” stamp set with the “Bunny Hop” set, to accomplish my idea.

I began by masking all but the head of one of the Newton stamps from the “Newton’s Antics” set, and inking it with StazOn ink. Because I wanted his tail closer to his body than in the original image, I masked off the head and then stamped the tail. Keeping the mask in place, I then stamped the eggs from the “Bunny Hop” stamp set with the same StazOn ink. I colored my image with my Derwent watercolor pencils, and then fussy cut the image out.

For the background, I die cut a circle from watercolor paper using a Spellbinders nested circle die set. I created some grass using my Derwent pencils and the sky with some Peacock Feathers distress ink and an ink blending tool. I also stamped a sentiment using stamps from the Newton’s Nook “Just Say Cheese” and “Bunny Hop” sets.

On some separate watercolor paper, I stamped some clouds from the Lawn Fawn “Blue Skies” stamp set, and fussy cut them out. I then layered the clouds and my Newton image onto the circle and adhered this onto a green scalloped circle.

My card base is created from some white cardstock, which is embossed using a polka dot stencil and my Big Shot machine. I’ve layered on some patterned paper, a white scalloped strip, and some purple ribbon, before adhering my little Newton scene overtop.

I love how bright and happy this card turned out, and I hope you too have enjoyed this as much I did creating it! Thanks again for stopping by! :)
