Get Well Soon

Get Well Soon_4

Hello, so glad you’ve stopped by! I needed a few “get well” cards this week, and thought I’d share them with you as well.

I absolutely adore this cute tissue box cut file from the “Get Well Soon” set by Miss Kate Cuttables, and I thought it would be a great element to use on a card that needs to bring a smile to someone’s face! :)

I began by die cutting all the tissue box pieces from patterned papers with my Silhouette Cameo. Once cut, I paper pieced them together, adding a small square of black behind the face to fill in this little guy’s features. I also used a pink colored pencil and a white gel pen to add little details for his cheeks.

Now, the cut file does come with some “tissues” that you can die cut from paper, which I did cut, but did not adhere to my tissue box. I instead used the tissue as a template to trace onto some felt; I then fussy cut the felt out and adhered my new “tissues” inside my tissue box. I chose to use felt, because it provides a lot more realism and texture to the card… and it looked really cute!

I layered the tissue box onto a 3 1/2″ by 4 3/4″ watercolor paper panel, which is stamped with the sentiment “Get Well Soon” from the Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings” stamp set and some Jet Black StazOn ink. I watercolored the shadows using some Tim Holtz Iced Spruce distress ink, to help ground my image.

The large hearts I used for the background are from the Simon Says Stamp “Hearts Parade” die, and the smaller hearts are created from a mini heart punch. I also stamped the tiny hearts using the Lawn Fawn “Blue Skies” stamp set and some VersaMagic Aquatic Splash ink.

Because I did not have any cardstock that I liked with the Aquatic Splash ink, I simply colored a piece of white cardstock with the ink before layering it behind my main panel.

Finally, I tied an orange ribbon around the bottom portion of the card and adhered my panel to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

I love how sweet this card is…. the fun little tissue box is the perfect smile-maker for someone who is a bit under the weather! I hope you’ve enjoyed this too, and I am so happy you’ve stopped by today!

See you soon! :)
