Birthday Bot

Happy Monday!

Today I am back to share with you a fun birthday card that I created, featuring a very cute little robot digi stamp!

The image I used for the focal point of my card is a “Mini Robot” digi stamp from a Simply Cards & Papercrafts’ free download, available here. I printed him out onto white cardstock and colored him in some colored pencils. After fussy cutting the robot out, I covered the blue part of his body and the two little red balls above him with Glossy Accents… robots have to be shiny! :)

I then brought in another digi stamp from Simply Cards and Papercrafts, called “Party Banners“; using the “happy birthday” sentiment included in the set, I resized it to fit inside my 4″ x 5 1/2″ card. I also typed up the rest of the sentiment “to the world’s best kiddo” and positioned it under the “happy birthday” (the font used for this was “Courier”). This entire sentiment was printed out onto my card.

Because I wanted to color the letters of the sentiment in, I used my colored pencils once again, and in a rainbow order, colored and shaded each letter.

The robot is attached above my sentiment with some foam tape. I also brought in the “Magical” kit stamp set by the Sweet Stamp Shop, and stamped some stars in black dye ink randomly around my card. For a finishing touch, I rounded the corners of my card using a corner punch.

Moving on to the inside, I printed out the “you” from another sentiment that was included in the “Party Banners” digi file, onto a piece of cardstock. The rest of the sentiment, is typed up in the same “Courier” font that I used on the front of the card.  I trimmed down the cardstock and rounded the two bottom corners; I also took those same stars and stamped them around the inside panel.

Finally, I wanted to create a fun, matching envelope for this card. So I took some polka dot patterned paper from Colorbök’s “Primary Geometric” paper pad and my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to create a custom envelope.

For the label on the front of the envelope, I used the banner that was also included in the “Party Banners” file, and typed up the word “to” using the font “Courier”. I printed this out onto some white cardstock, and trimmed it down to 4″ x 2 3/4. I also stamped the same stars used on my card, and with a black multiliner pen, I drew some dashed lines for where the rest of the address will go.

And that completes this fun little birthday card! I think this would make a great card to give to a little boy who’s celebrating his special day… I hope you’ve enjoyed and thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Creating! :)
