Hugs & Kisses Shaker Card

Happy Sunday!

As Valentine’s day fast approaches, I’m back with more love themed cards to share with you, and I thought it would be fun to have today’s project be a shaker! Using products from Simon Says Stamp, this is what I came up with…

I began by cutting a heavy-weight cardstock panel measuring 5 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and running it through my Big Shot machine with the Simon Says Stamp “Heart Parade” die.

With some stamps from the “Soaring for You” stamp set, I selectively stamped the “sending you hugs & kisses” sentiment in Versamark ink before heat embossing it with gold powder. The tiny hearts are from the same “Soaring for You” set, and are stamped and embossed as well.

Next, I cut and adhered a piece of clear acetate behind the die cut “window” in my panel. I covered the heart frame negative in Wink of Stella clear glitter and adhered this inside the window and onto the acetate. A single layer of foam tape is attached to the back of the window panel for when I  go to adhere it to my shaker background.

I chose some patterned paper from the American Crafts “With Love” paper pad to be the background of my shaker. I covered all the pennants with some Wink of Stella glitter and adhered some sequins and glitter hearts randomly around the paper before piling the rest of the sequins in the middle of my paper. I did this as it will help in keeping the shaker card to not appear as “empty” when standing up right with all the sequins in the bottom. For sequins, I chose some round translucent white and some pink ovals, as well as some gold hearts I punched from some glitter-tape-covered-cardstock.

I layered my shaker panel onto some scalloped vellum paper with foam tape, and then attached both pieces onto my card base with some more foam tape. The patterned paper on the card base is some glitter paper from the Recollections “Painted Fancy” paper pad. I tied a turqouise ribbon around the bottom portion of my card to finish it all off.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s shimmery Valentine shaker card! Thank you so much for stopping by… Happy Creating!
